A bank certificate of deposit pays a couple of percent. In the spring of 2021, a cryptocurrency called Hex promised savers something far bigger: lock your coins, become your own bank, and earn yields no traditional institution would offer. Hundreds of thousands of wallets signed on, while founder Richard Heart battled persistent Ponzi allegations in the crypto press.

Before any of that context reached them, four viewers at the Future Forecasting Group worked Hex as a blind target. Daz Smith, Edward Riordan, Dick Allgire, and Nyiam Vendryes sat their sessions cold, then met on camera to compare what came through. Their data kept returning the same architecture: money flowing out of a bank into one place, a coded time lock on deposits, hidden partners operating behind the scenes, and a principal figure described as smart, eccentric, and afraid.

Then came the vote. All four said the same thing.
